I’m Still in Naija!

so yeh!, i’ve been in naija for 12 days - 2 more days in motherland. In my short visit, i learn’t alot about the naija music industry. Things work a bit different out here. i’ll tell you all the details when i get back to ATL. I stopped by Jimmy’s crib, played at the plush, baccus, and Eko hotel. The classic DJs event was nice. I managed to play at two events at the same time lol.. i had to. In summary, I’m having a ball down here. Nepa situation is worse, roads are terrible (unless u on the island), one chance buses are still in full effect, police are corrupt as hell - 4 checkpoint within a mile, soliciting money. it’s really bad! on the flip side, life is fun down here if you have money to form papas level. i couldn’t go a day without someone stopping me on the road asking if i was the dude in eLDee’s Bosi gbangba video lol..
i can’t wait to come back though. 2 weeks in naija was a humbling experience. i’m @ ogba hanging with M.I, Kel, Suspekt, Mo Cheddah, Othello, Osagie, Clarence Peters and the Capital records crew. They working on KEL’s album. you’re gonna luv it!

aight folks, keep checking out the blog. a lot of stuff popping off in naija, i will be updating you soon.

Someone hit me up with this mixtape joint over the weekend.   I know M.I always bring the heat, but really never heard much of othello and Kel until now.  All three artists murdered it.  I couldnt resist putting it up.

Without question, 2008 was a great year for the industry, and it was also the breakout year for talented artists such as 9ice, Timaya, Naeto C, Durella, Banky W, J Martins, X Project, Bigiano, MI, Wande Coal and many more. There was never a dull moment in music this year.

Naija DJs End of Yr mixtape features music from 23 acts, some of them you are familiar with, most of them however, you will be hearing for the first time. We’re sure you will enjoy listening to them.

Promo single from Konga’s upcoming sophomore album - “Eno 101 (Konga Swagga)”. Sometimes i find it a bit hard to keep up with konga’s flows, he’s like the naija version of bonethugs lol.. he’s real cool dude though.
The album already has productions from J.J.C (London), BoomBeats, LayLow, I.D. Cabasa, and K-Solo. check out the promo track titled “call me”, and let me know what you think.
