Newest joint from one of the greatest lyricists Nigeria has ever seen. I finally got the mastered version yesterday. I didn’t know who modenine was, until in 2005 when i heard the Pentium IX mixtape. I had just graduated from college a year earlier, relocated back to NYC and and started to follow Nigerian Hiphop a bit more. I’m not even sure how i got the tape. it looked rather uninteresting, like any other randomly burnt cd, with the words ‘pentium ix’ scribbled on in black marker. it sat in my cd collection for a few months and collected dust until one day i got around to listening to it. That tape remains the best rap mixtape i’ve heard till date. I thought it was way ahead of it’s time at the time of release. The punchlines had you rewinding, and the beats sounded like they came from DJ Premier’s shop. it’s now resting nicely in my classics collections.

The song – ‘Badman’ was produced by A1, he did the hook as well. Mode is currently working on an album slated for release this year, though the sound on this project will be a bit different from what fans would expect. The video for ‘Badman’ is almost ready. I attached another bonus joint off the album – ‘Loke’, featuring Y.Q and O.D.
