Naira is back on her grind in full effect. Finally listened to her newly released mixtape titled “Lost in Translations”. There’s some heat on there. I thought it was a bright idea she picked out some hot naija instrumentals to record her freestyles over. To be honest, Naira is rarely mentioned when discussing top female naija MCs. it’s got less to do with her skills, more to do with her style of music geared towards the Nigerian market. After listening to this mixtape (mostly the naija joints), i’m convinced beyond reasonable doubt Naira can match up with the females up top. Some of my favorite freestyle joints off the mixtape include Swagger 101 remix (Originially recorded by Loose Kaynon), Hustle Grind Fresh Fly (recorded over D’banj’s ‘Suddenly’), Jang-o-lova (Recorded over Steel’s ‘Omoge’). There’s some Hip Hop freestyle joints on there too. The mixtape can be downloaded freely on Truspot! Radio . Cop it!
